Since making the decision to utilize telehealth or, telepsychology, as my primary method of providing services, I have been exploring the possibilities that the “tech” world offers to improve my practice and to provide assistance to my clients. About a month ago, I was contact by a representative of Cambridge Brain Science, an online platform that offers reliable and scientifically validated assessment tools to measure cognition as well as objective measures of psychological functioning. Clinical research shows that the cognitive abilities that we utilize on a daily basis are affected by many factors including sleep and eating patterns, stress level, engagement with others, and exercise. When we struggle to maintain a consistent “diet” of these facets, the result is an extent of diminished cognitive abilities, otherwise knows as “brain fog.” CBS Health has developed a short battery (30-45 minutes) of neurocognitive tasks that measure three basic domains of intellectual ability: reasoning, short-term memory, and verbal ability. By using this battery in conjunction with objective measures of psychological functioning (ASRS, GAD-7, PHQ-9), I hope to obtain a baseline of functioning at the initiation of treatment and to administer the battery at set intervals throughout treatment. My goals is to use the results of the measures to assess the effectiveness of our interventions as well as other services (psychiatric services or other therapies) that are implemented during the course of treatment.

After integrating CBS Health’s assessment services to bolster the practice’s intake and therapeutic assessment process, I contracted with Becca and Leah of A Wiser Website. In just two weeks, they rebranded my logo and website into its current sleek and clean look and added SEO (Search Engine Optimization) that has increased the traffic to my site and has already been effective in increasing my client base. In addition, they provided a training on SquareSpace that will allow me to maintain my own site going forward. I would definitely recommend them to other clinicians. Please use the link above to visit their site or contact them by email at hello@awiserwebsite.com.

That is all for now. Stay tuned for more blogs coming up.

Have a great weekend!
